Guest the First

Frances Somerville
Frances SomervilleStage Manager, Big River, Tokyo International Players
She’s arguably the most active stage manager in Tokyo’s international theatre scene – if you’ve seen more than a couple of headliner shows in Tokyo since 2006, it’s a mathematically-likely circumstance that you’ve seen a stage managed by Frances Somerville. She’s also sat on the Tokyo International Players board of directors for many seasons, performed as an actor (Midsummer Night’s Dream, 2010), worked as a director (Guards, Guards, 2008), and puppeteered a carnivorous plant (Little Shop of Horrors, 2009). She’s just stepped in to take over stage management duties on Big River, TIP’s big musical.

Guest the Second

Martin Leroux
Martin LerouxActor, 'Huck' in Big River, Tokyo International Players
He’s an utterly charming show-off and a talented musician/actor/writer who knows his way around the frets – and he’s headlining TIP’s upcoming production of Big River as the iconic Huckleberry Finn character. Recent TIP-goers will remember Martin Leroux from his performances in Chess (2015) and The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? (2016). He’s also an up-and-coming rapper, as is evidenced by his debut performance on Exit, Pursued by Kaiju!
